Container Handling

Port Louis Harbour operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year and provides round the clock shipping and cargo/container handling operations with priority to fully containerized and container transshipment carriers.

Looking ahead, the Authority will direct its strategy at optimizing its core business. In this regard it will further its infrastructural upgrades, development programmes and container handling capacity of the Mauritius Container Terminal (MCT) to position the port as a regional hub in preparation for the Panamax era. 

Cargo handling services are provided by the Cargo Handling Corporation Ltd (CHCL)
