TENDER NOTICE FOR THE SALE OF ONE ASD TRACTOR TUG

1. Background

Bids are invited for the sale of one ASD Tractor Tug of Bollard Pull capacity 45 tonnes, built in 1999 on an “as is where is” basis, together with spares.

2. General Particulars of the Tug

The general particulars of the Tug are as follows:

The Tug was built under Lloyds Class.

For more details regarding the particulars of the tug and list of spares, potential bidders may refer to the MPA website www.mauport.com.

3. Pre-purchase Inspection of Tug

The vessel is available at Port Louis Harbour for inspection by any potential buyer. Request for inspection should be made to the Port Master on email address k.newoor@mauport.com or by fax on +230 242 8314.

4. Request for Clarifications

Any clarification or additional information sought by any prospective bidder should be addressed to the Director-General on info@mauport.com or by fax on +230 240 0856 at least fourteen (14) days before the deadline for the submission of bids.

5. Validity Period

Bids shall remain valid for a period of 90 days as from the closing date.

6. Basis for Pricing

Bids should be made on a no VAT basis and quoted in Mauritian Rupees or USD or Euro.  The price shall be firm and fixed till the end of the validity period.  No claim shall be entertained by the MPA in respect of any increase in costs such as handling, labour, transport etc. which may come into force during this sale exercise.

7. Bid Security

Bids should be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Bank Cheque or Bank Guarantee from a recognized local commercial bank or international bank through a correspondent bank located in Mauritius equivalent to 10% of the total bid price.  Bids not so secured will not be accepted.

8. Payment

Payment shall be made for the full amount due within fifteen (15) calendar days after issue of the Letter of Acceptance. 

Delivery or collection of the tug and spares shall start the next day after the payment has been effected.

9. Submission of Bids

Bids along with bid securities, in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Sale of One ASD Tractor Tug”, should be addressed to the Director-General, Mauritius Ports Authority, 1^st Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius.

10. Deadline for the Submission of Bids

Bids should be either deposited in the Tender Box located in the Chief Officer’s Office, Mauritius Ports Authority, 1^st Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius or submitted by registered post or courier so as to reach the Mauritius Ports Authority on or before Monday 29 August 2022 at 14.00 hrs (Mauritian time) at latest. 

Offers received after the specified closing date and time will not be considered.

The MPA reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to cancel the bidding exercise at any time prior to award, without thereby incurring any liability to any Bidder.
